Cairndene are looking for an experienced software developer to play a key role in the design and development of desktop, mobile and web based software solutions for the oil and gas industry. The successful candidate will be engaged in the full project life cycle including requirements analysis, design, development, testing and production rollout/support, and will be involved in key relationships with technical colleagues, business sponsors and other stakeholders.

We are looking for proactive and self-motivated developer with a positive attitude and excellent technical, team-working, communication, analytical and problem solving skills.

Essential

• Good knowledge of Java, C# or similar 3rd generation programming language
• Strong understanding of Object Oriented Design and Analysis
• Web development using Javascript, JQuery and HTML
• Experience using version control such as GIT or Subversion
• Minimum 2 years commercial software development experience

Desirable

• RDBMS skills, including database design, SQL development and query optimisation
• Knowledge / Experience using web development frameworks such as Spring and Struts
• Experience of Test Driven Development

Education

• Degree or equivalent in a scientific, computing or other quantitative subject preferred.
